Travel Prepared - Keep Your Impact Light
To help with your impact while visiting their are a few things you can bring with you. This beautiful island in the Agean Sea has limited garbage disposal as well as recycling needs to be shipped to Athens. AND you can help reduce visiter impact by bringing a few things with you.
Water: Please bring a water bladder or one 48oz Nalgene bottle that you can fill up at water stations around the island. This will help so much with reducing plastic bottle usage.
Container for left-overs at meals. Greeks love food and they love to pile it on. Most times when you order a meal you will get enough food for a snack later. Bring your own favorite container and reduce the use of food containers or styrofoam. Yes they still use styrofoam there.
Girls: Bring a small pouch with tissue or toilet paper and small plastic baggies to pack out your toilet paper at the climbing sites. Everyone appreciate you for this effort.
